Larry Crowne is an upcoming comedy movie directed by Tom Hanks and written by Hanks and Nia Vardalos. The film cast includes Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts and is produced by Hanks and Gary Goetzman at Playtone. After Larry Crowne (Hanks), a middle-aged man, is terminated from his job, he goes back to college, where he unexpectedly forms bonds with his fellow students and a romantic relationship with Mercedes Tainot, a professor (Roberts). The movie is scheduled to be released on July 1, 2011 and will be distributed by Universal Pictures.
