STORYLINE:Evelyn Salt is a CIA agent and highly respected by all, including her boss. Two years ago, Evelyn Salt is captured in North Korea and tortured.Her beloved husband and entomologist Mike Krause presses the US Government to make a swap and bring Salt back home. After being brought back to US she works administrative works with this boss Ted Winter in CIA. When a Russian Spy turns himself in to CIA, Salt is assigned to interrogate him with her boss. Unexpectedly, the man accuses Salt of being a Russian agent in charge of killing the President of Russia during his visit to New York to attend the funeral of the American Vice-President. This shocked Salt and claims that she is innocent and she wants to call her husband. But they refused to do so. She asked Ted to give protection to her husband believing that her husband will also go through bad experiences. When she believe that all her attempts to help her husband will go in vain she escapes from the custody of CIA. And goes in search of SALT.
